In October of 2022, the Institute celebrated a full year in a new office space, located Ritter Annex, alongside College of Education and Human Development colleagues. For several years, the Institute’s home was on the fourth floor in the Howard Gittis Student Center.
The office space in Ritter Annex on Cecil B. Moore Avenue was earmarked for the Institute and fully renovated with new office and meeting space, new windows, floors, etc.
Highlights of the space:
- A spacious demonstration room, where TechOWL welcomes visitors who want to learn about assistive technology;
- A fully accessible restroom, featuring the first adult changing table on campus;
- Meeting rooms, gathering areas and workspaces for more than 40 staff members, graduate assistants and student workers, working on more than 20 active projects.
The Institute is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Special thanks to John Francescone, Director of Planning and Facilities at the College of Education and Human Development and to Temple University's Planning and Facilities Department for a smooth and successful transition to our new office and for their continued support in maintaining the space to meet the Institute's needs.
