Intake Requests
The Institute on Disabilities (IOD) values research that expands our understandings of the lived experience of disability, improves services, quality of life, and inclusion of disabled people, and ameliorates the impacts of ableism.
Researchers interested in having their studies shared with the IOD community are asked to complete this form. Intake request forms are reviewed by an inclusive team of researchers at the end of every month.
In our review, we consider if studies:
- Offer participant accommodations
- Align with disability justice
- Align with IOD’s mission
- Use inclusive research practices
- Offer participant compensation
We do not share studies that:
- Patronize or infantilize
- Align with the medical model of disability
- Promote or exacerbate oppression such as racism or homophobia
- Demand undue burden on participant time or energy
We aim to inform researchers of the status of their request the first week of the month following submission. Information about accepted studies will be posted on the IOD website.
The IOD will not share information about research studies through email or social media.
