The Institute Welcomes Visitors from Dubai

The Institute on Disabilities hosted three visitors from Dubai, United Arab Emirates from the Community Development Authority on Wednesday, June 26, 2013.

H.E. Khalid Mohammed Ali Al Kamda, Director General, Community Development Authority, Dr. Bushra Al Mulla, Director of Social Care and Inclusion, Dr. Hussain Maseeh, Social Care Expert visited the Institute as well as centers in Washington DC, and other east coast cities.

The group from Dubai was interested in learning new techniques in the areas of early intervention and other programs that target individuals ages 6 through 16, community services for adults with intellectual disabilities, including employment, housing and assistive technology. The goal of the brief tour is to learn about best practices in in disability services to make adjustments to their own program in Dubai.
