Sparks, by Dawn States

Artist's Statement

With Sparks, I created an exploration of resilience through ballet movements and vocabulary.  In this piece, I am exploring bodily what it feels like to be resilient, which to me is being able to navigate all the ups and downs of life. This is filmed at an outdoor location with the help of my partner Shawn Ganley using an iPhone, as I think nature is another example of resilience.
