C2P2 2027

Competence and Confidence: Partners in Policymaking—C2P2

Become a leader in your community: Educate. Empower. Lead!

Learn to work with policymakers to make a difference in the quality of life for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and/or autism.

C2P2 2027 is a Free Program for:

  • Family members of a school-age child in Pennsylvania with intellectual and developmental disabilities and/or autism
  • Adults in Pennsylvania with intellectual and developmental disabilities and/or autism

C2P2 participants attend eight two- and three-day sessions over a nine-month period from January - September.

Participants Will Learn:

  • About local, state and national issues affecting people with disabilities;
  • To foster a partnership between people who need supports and services and those who make policy and law;
  • To advocate for themselves and others;
  • To teach policymakers a new way of thinking about people with disabilities.

When Can I Apply?

The application period for C2P2 2027 opens on October 7, 2026.

Session Locations

C2P2 is hybrid, with both virtual and in-person sessions.

Virtual sessions are held on Zoom.

In-person sessions take place at Temple University Harrisburg, Strawberry Square, 234 Strawberry Street, Harrisburg, PA 17101.

C2P2 2027 Schedule

Participants commit to attending all sessions.

3-Day Virtual Sessions

Virtual sessions will be held in January, February, April, and June on a Friday/Saturday/Wednesday schedule:

  • Friday, 1 pm - 6:30 pm
  • Saturday, 9 am - 2:30 pm
  • Wednesday, 7 pm - 9 pm

2-Day Weekend Sessions at Temple Harrisburg

In-person sessions will be held in March, May, July, and September on a Friday/Saturday schedule, at Temple University's Harrisburg campus:

  • Friday, 1 pm - 8 pm
  • Saturday, 8:30 am - 3 pm

2027 Session Dates

  • Session 1: January 23, January 23, January 27 — Virtual
  • Session 2:  February 19, February 20, February 24 — Virtual
  • Session 3: March 12, March 13 — In-Person
  • Session 4: April 16, April 17, April 21 — Virtual
  • Session 5: May 21, May 22 — Legislative visits, May dates are subject to change
  • Session 6: June 25, June 26, June 30 — Virtual
  • Session 7: July 16, July 17 — In-Person
  • August Break
  • Session 8: September 17, September 18 — In-Person/Harrisburg Graduation

Requirements

  1. Applicants must make a time commitment to travel to Harrisburg to attend ALL in-person trainings and also participate in ALL virtual trainings via Zoom.*
  2. Attendees must review all materials before and after each session.
  3. Homework will be assigned and must be completed.
