The Institute has been awarded a $300,000 grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Aging to create training modules for people planning on becoming Person-Centered Counselors for older Pennslvanians.
The multi-part training will offer a wide range of effective person-centered counseling guides. In addition, each module will encourage discussions which will help Pennsylvanians, families, and interdisciplinary teams develop effective support strategies using both systems-based services and community resources.
A Person-Centered Counselor is integral to assuring that the needs and preferences of older adults and people with disabilities are identified and met.
The fully-virtual training modules are scheduled to launch by September 2021.
