The Institute has been awarded a grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Aging to create training modules for people planning on becoming Person-Centered Counselors for older Pennsylvanians.

The multi-part training will offer a wide range of effective person-centered counseling guides. In addition, each module will encourage discussions which will help Pennsylvanians, families, and interdisciplinary teams develop effective support strategies using both systems-based services and community resources.

A Person-Centered Counselor is integral to assuring that the needs and preferences of older adults and people with disabilities are identified and met.

The fully virtual training modules are scheduled to launch by September 2021.
