Academy for Adult Learning

Academy for Adult Learning Photos

The Academy for Adult Learning (AAL) was a four semester certificate program which provided students with intellectual disabilities an authentic college experience while developing vocational skills and career aspirations. Each student was matched with a mentor - a matriculated Temple student, and engaged in an on-campus internship.

The Academy for Adult Learning has been replaced by Leadership & Career Studies.

Meet the AAL Graduates

Academy students and mentors in action.

New students and new mentors learn several words in Paley Library using American Sign Language during their AAL orientation. Kendall, a new Academy student, asks: "What is this building?" The group signs: "library," "typing," "computer," "read," "quiet," and "book."
