The photographs in this collection feature Pennsylvanians with disabilities who use HCBS — Home and Community-Based Services — to live the life they choose. HCBS provides supports and services that empower a person to live in the community of their choice rather than a nursing home, state intellectual disability center, or other congregate care setting.
Domonique - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Domonique is a mother and a disability and family advocate with a passion to achieve full and equal access to medical care for herself and other people with disabilities.
In addition to her job as an Independent Living Specialist for Liberty Resources, Inc., Domonique founded, and now leads, the Momma Chronicles Too, a support and advocacy group for mothers and women guardians who have disabilities or who have disabled children.
Momma Chronicles Too advocacy efforts have focused on connecting and educating medical, child welfare, and government systems about disability diversity, equity, and inclusion on every level.
Domonique competed in and won the 2023 Ms. Wheelchair Pennsylvania competition.
