Cheryl B. Torsney, PhD (she/her) is the Program Manager for Leadership and Career Studies (L&CS). Cheryl has taught undergraduate and graduate students as a Professor of English at various institutions. She has served as an academic affairs leader in championing diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives; managing assessment and accreditation; directing teaching and learning centers; collaborating with disability and access offices; and leading faculty affairs. Cheryl helped secure a TRIO McNair Scholars program award and funding to promote open educational resources (OER). A Fulbright fellow, awardee of the American Council of Learned Societies, and consultant evaluator for both the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and the Southern Association of College and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), she currently serves as an American Council on Education (ACE) Women’s Network Mentor. She is a member of a Temple University research team in the College of Education and Human Development studying race and motivation in learning.
