Siblings Investigation

An a exciting initiative focused on siblings of people with disabilities has launched in Pennsylvania.

The Pennsylvania Developmental Disabilities Council (PADDC) has funded the Siblings Investigation project being led by the Sibling Leadership Network (SLN) in partnership with the Institute on Disabilities at Temple University and the Pennsylvania Sibling Support Network (PSSN).

The Goal of the project is to examine how the Council can engage in work with the siblings of people with disabilities in Pennsylvania.

To achieve this goal, we have done the following:

  • Conducted a national sibling survey;
  • Held focus groups across Pennsylvania to listen to and learn from people with disabilities and their siblings;
  • Created stakeholder group to translate findings from the national survey into promising practices in PA
