Supporting Diverse Learners Curriculum

The Institute has produced a three-part Inclusive Education curriculum.

The series is called, "Supporting Diverse Learners in School and in the Community—A Series of Training Curricula."

Volume 1

Volume 1 is titled "An Introduction to Inclusive Education" and is designed to provide trainers with the necessary materials to deliver an overview of inclusive education to teachers, administrators, parents, guardians, people with disabilities and family members.

The curriculum presents a basic understanding of the values, laws and practices that support the development and implementation of inclusive education. The manual, which comes complete with Trainer Guide, Power Point slides, handouts, reference guide and more, can be used in workshops ranging from one to three hours.

Volume 2

Volume 2, "Making Friends and Building a Social Network", provides trainers with the materials necessary to deliver this training on making friends and building social networks. It includes the what, why, and how of facilitating relationship-building in order to give students a more fertile ground for learning and development.

Volume 3

Finally Volume 3, "Collaboration: The Key to Success" addresses collaboration and creative problem solving, including the what, why, and how of facilitating collaboration and creative problem solving in order to give school teams a stronger framework from which to support students' inclusive educational experience.
