Purpose of the Project:

The Educating Health Care Professionals project provides training to physicians and other health care professionals in order to enhance their ability to understand and relate to patients, peers and other people with disabilities. All courses are taught by project faculty who are experienced trainers with disabilities.

The training will provide a review of significant developments in the disability community; hands-on training in assistive technology; interaction with and personal perspectives from adults with various developmental disabilities; techniques for interaction and communication; and information regarding resources.

The project is partially funded by the Medical School at Temple University.
