Purpose of the Project
- Identify current trends in the use of electronic organizers to address
cognitive disability. These include personal data assistants (PDAs),
Pocket PCs, Palms, handheld computers, pagers, cell phones, and portable
voice organizers.
- Conduct usage trials of electronic organizers with persons with cognitive
disability
- Provide consumers and other stakeholders with information on electronic organizers applied to cognitive disability
Project Outcomes
As part of this project we will create and conduct the following:
- Survey consumers and caregives on the potential uses of electronic
organizers
- Create a Web Catalog of
electronic organizers
- Conduct usage trials of electronic organizers
- Create Tip cards and how to manuals for ease of use
- Conduct a Webcast to disseminate findings from the study
- Hold a Technology Transfer Conference for stakeholders on the State
of the Science
- Publish White papers as dissemination tools
- Develop a Website accessibility tool development specifically geared to Cognitive Disabilities
The project specifically addresses adults with traumatic brain injury and adults and children with intellectual disabilities.
