with the start of the fall semester. Occasionally, students are hired in January
to begin with the spring semester.

5. How are students selected
for an interview for the graduate assistantship program?
Answer: All applications are reviewed by the assistantship

interests.
6. What happens during
and after the first interview with the assistantship coordinator?
Answer: During the interview, the assistantship coordinator

assistantship positions that might be a good match to the student’s skills,
experience, academic department and interests.
7. How many interviews
will be scheduled?
Answer: If after the first interview with the assistantship
coordinator a possible match is identified to a specific graduate assistantship
position, the student will be scheduled for an interview with the actual work
assignment supervisor. The assistantship coordinator will attend all subsequent

recommended for an interview with a work assignment supervisor for a
specifically identified graduate assistantship position?
Answer: Generally, two or three students are recommended for
an interview with a work assignment supervisor.
