- Instruction, training, and materials for participation and tutor, plus one year follow-up technical assistance. On-site training includes:
- At least 20 hours of structured communication instruction
- 15-20 hours of Empowerment instruction, including training in:
- The Americans with Disabilities Act
- Employment
- Managing Personal Assistant Services
- Personal Safety
- 15-20 hours of instruction in interfacing AAC devices with personal computers, including:
- Microsoft Office Applications
- World Wide Web and E-mail
- 2 "Supporting While Letting Go" parent transition sessions
- Room and board for participant. This includes:
- 12 nights in a dormitory at Temple University Main Campus
- On-site overnight ACES Resident Advisor
- Two meals a day plus lunch stipend
- Room and board for 12 days for each accompanying person (Tutor and/or Personal Assistant):
- Dormitory housing at Temple University Main Campus
- Two meals per day plus lunch stipend
Total cost (for 1 participant and 1 accompanying person): $3475.00*
* This total does not include:
- Travel to and from ACES
- Cost of your Personal Assistant
ACES staff will work with each participant to help you identify funding sources.
