Institute staff member honored by Philadelphia Mayor
George Heake, Accessible Information Technology Coordinator and Emergency Management Coordinator at the Institute on Disabilities received the Philadelphia Mayor's Commission on People with Disabilities Access Achievement Award.
Now in its thirteenth year, this award is given to recognize and acknowledge businesses and individuals throughout the Philadelphia region who have made an outstanding effort and commitment to increase access for people with disabilities. Mr. Heake was honored for his tireless work to ensure accessibility in emergency preparedness, management and response for people with disabilities.
An awards breakfast was held on October 31, 2008.
