Institute on Disabilities at Temple University and Temple University VOAD are sponsoring a second relief effort to collect Assistive Durable Medical Equipment for the survivors of Hurricane Katrina.

Equipment donations will be accepted beginning Monday, April 10 through Saturday, April 29.

On Saturday, April 29, a final donation event will be held on the Temple University’s campus from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Parking Lot #3, 13th Street and Cecil B. Moore Avenue. (For directions, go to www.temple.edu/maps)

Equipment will be collected and loaded for shipment to LATAN (Louisiana Assistive Technology Access Network)

PLEASE NOTE: ALL EQUIPMENT MUST BE IN CLEAN AND IN GOOD WORKING ORDER

NOTE: Any overflow equipment not needed by the LATAN group will be retained for local, regional, national relief efforts.

SPONSORS NEEDED for local transportation/truck leasing, warehouse space, forklift equipment, pallets, pallet wraps, shirts for volunteers, food service for volunteers.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED for all phases of the operations such as sending email, regular mail, making phone call, pick up and delivery, fork lift operations etc.
